CPV is looking for an experienced civil engineer with experience in energy projects to join its Engineering & Construction Department, located in our Braintree, MA office. The successful candidate will play an active role in the development and execution of prospective renewable and energy transition projects. Candidate must be a self-directed, motivated individual, willing and able to balance multiple initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Prior energy project development and execution experience is required.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Responsible for supporting various aspects of the development of renewable and dispatchable energy transition projects in the US from site evaluation, development and permitting support through contracting and financial closing; with construction support as needed. Requires interaction with teams consisting of internal and external resources. The specific responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Support the evaluation project sites for the development of energy installations.
- Evaluation of project layouts based on civil characteristics.
- Review and support for project stormwater designs and permit applications
- Review and support of project geotechnical reports and foundation designs. Providing technical evaluations related to geotechnical aspects of the projects.
- Work closely and timely communicate with internal teams and external consultants including engineering and environmental teams
- Update Management on project progress, action items and budget
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- 10+ years of experience in an energy-related business; solar and/or wind power generation experience a plus
- Candidate must have experience in stormwater design and various NPDES best management practices.
- Candidate must have experience in the evaluation of Geotechnical reports and assessment of foundation designs
- Must be a self-starter, organized, and able to work well with personnel at all levels in the organization
- Must possess top level computer, interpersonal, and facilitation skills
- Ability to gather, organize and systematically analyze complex information;
- Experience and competency with energy generation systems, design and contracting
- Strong engineering skills and understanding design drawings, GIS, spatial modeling and analysis
- Ability to travel up to 40% as necessary
- Must pass a pre-employment background and financial credit check
