PROJECT OVERVIEW
The CPV Towantic Energy Center generates enough reliable electricity on average to power more than 800,000 Connecticut homes and offset carbon dioxide emissions equivalent of taking more than 260,000 cars off the road each year. Through our use of General Electric’s (GE) advanced power generation technology, CPV Towantic provides safe, reliable, cost-effective and environmentally responsible power for CT. CPV Towantic pairs well with less reliable power sources like wind and solar because it provides a backstop to maintain grid reliability when the wind or sun cuts out.
